Church of the Nativity

Church of the Nativity was built by order of the Queen of Heaven to the entrance to the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, so that the altar of Church of the Nativity was in place porch Kazan. "The porch is worthy of this altar for my mother Agafea S., standing in prayer, washed it  all with currents of humility tears" - said the priest.

Founder of the church with the blessing of the priest Seraphim was Mikhail Manturov, God-fearing and God-loving husband, all burnt with love to the Queen of Heaven. Cure him of the deadly disease, in gratitude to God, the priest told him, assuming spontaneous poverty, to sell all his possessions and the money to build a church for the Mill community. In the summer of 1829 the Church of the Nativity was to end in the construction, as the tab is held by blessing Reverend Athanasius, Bishop of Novgorod.

The church was basically built by summer 1829. Father Seraphim wished that this church was certainly blessed in the Transfiguration of the Lord, and said that if it is not blessed in this day, it remains unconsecrated until the next holiday, because the Lord so desired. That a person is not possible, the Lord always and everywhere.

Two local image were hastily brought from the neighboring village, as the iconostasis was not. It was difficult to combine the three services: the Nativity, the Transfiguration and the consecration of the church, but Father Seraphim entrusted the experienced preachers Archimandrite Joachim of Nizhny Novgorod, which was specially consecrated the temple service, and it is 6/19 August, the feast of the Transfiguration.

According to the commandment of St. Seraphim,  an inextinguishable candle was burned in the Church of the Nativity of Christ in  front of the Savior and in 1992 re-ignited. The altar is preserved frescoes depicting the Savior, surrounded by angels. The church was reconsecrated again in 1993.
